Default exaust exaust

hello as you can see i'm new to the forum. This forum has been very useful i dont know why i didnt join sooner.

I can hear an exaust leak from the header to the following pipe leading to the cat. ; Do the headers or pipinghave donuts or some type of a gasket or is it slip through design? I'm afraid to tighten the bolts on the manifold to the cat since there so rusted.
Oh and the car is pretty much stock.
I have a 88 gt, t-5, flow masters, k&n...pretty much stock.

No gaskets in the exhaust besides the header to the head gasket. Tighten up the bolts.

Wedge a 2X4 between the frame and mid pipe to header. Pry out then tighten, have to do it everytime
