Default Check oil light

So last week i noticed that my check oil light was on....so I checked my oil. for some reason it was above full....odd. well the car runs great, and there are no leaks or anything. Has anyone else had this problem before? BTW i have a 93 pretty much stock. Changed the oil about 1500 miles ago...running a k&n filter with motorcraft synthetic blend 10w30

When you changed the oil how many quarts did you put in it? Don't know why the oil light would come on.. wierd.

thats bad... you might wanna pull a drain plug and see if any coolant comes out.

and it would also be wise to drain some out anyway.... overfilling the crankcase is a good way to blow the motor

Yep.. 5 qts only (with factory pan), and make sure you always let it drain COMPLETELY.

Well if you have water in the oil, that's just not good. Probably a blown head gasket.

Fluid (such as water) in the oil will cause the reading on the dipstick to show above SAFE.

god damn it...lol. i REALLY dont want to mess with the heads unless im gonna get some new ones. should I just compression test all of the cylinders first to see if i infact DO have a blown headgasket?
