Default what would you do?

My engine will be needing a rebuild soon. I will not bedoing the work myself so I want to avoidhaving to take the engine apart to change something that I couldhave when I put it together. What would you do, or what would be the cheapest route? Here are the options i have

1. use the block currently in my car, re build it with 302 parts and put heads and a cam in.
2. use the block currently in my car, re build it to a 347, put 302 parts back on and start saving for an hci
3. Purchase a 347 liberator shortblock from fordstrokers.com, put 302 parts back on and start saving for an hci

only mods i have is a cai, and underdrive pulleys

I'd love to see something too, one of my friend has got his 88 5,0L taken apart right now and he is rebuilding it for next summer, he'd like to get the best bang for the buck for power without spending too much, I guess around 2k.

What should he do first ??
He plans on staying N/A in the future, would higher comp piston be a good idea ??? anything else ?
He has already got a cam, don't remember which but i heard it wasn't bad at all...

By a shortblock, keep your shortblock in-tact. Make a few hundred off of it...

Then save up for h/c/i to release the restriction.

Good Luck.

High Comp is only good for NA. And I wouldn't go above 13to one on a Modular Motor, with a Small block i'd say 10 is the limit.

I'd personally go to DSS and have them build you a Long Block with the heads already CNC'ed for you and installed. I've got a Modular Super Block in my Cobra and it runs all day fine, just the CATS seem to not be as decent...
