you wont notice much in performance unless they were clogged or getting that way.. then it may be a big difference, but there will be quite a bit different sound.. and you will probably notice a different smell from the exhaust with more fuel making it out.

Then you shouldnt have to cut off the cats.. Cats are not on off road pipes.

I noticed a diff in performance, because my cats had 115k miles on them. But the sound is unmatchable. I dont understand... you have a catted h and want to switch to o/r, right?

I would sell your catted H pipe(if it isn't stock it is worth something) and buy and off road H instead of cutting one apart.
