Well I have seen people boost a 10:0.1 CR engine, but I would probably only go about a 9.5:1 CR max. If I was building the engine for boost, I would go with about a 8.5:1-9.0:1 and crank up the boost. Since I'm staying N/A I went with a 10.3:1 CRin my 331.

the higher the base compression will result in higher static compression which will limit the amount of boost you can run...if you try to run gosh awful amounts of boost on a high compression motor...you have a recipe for disater unless you had a bullet proof build......you'll actually make more power with lower compression by allowing you to run more boost safely

Low compression = More boost without aftermarket block.

If you want a ****in crazyyy motor, 10:1 comp, 25lbs
=) I would love to build a motor like that.

Well I wouldn't say it's pushing it. I should rephrase it to it depends on how you tune it and what you use as an intercooler. An intercooler and a Mr. Freeze or a small shot of nitrous can dramatically decrease the risk of premature detonation which is that boost will cause, and will lead to the death of your engine.

My 331 is going to have TF Stg. 2 ported heads, a custom cam ground for the stroker, and probably a Holley intake.
