how do i get these out of my transmission

how do i get these out of my transmission
my fourth gear wouldnt go in so i bought a rebuild kit and it just came in. however i cant get those 2 at each end off the bar. is there a special tool? here are pictures http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/michael198989/

if you tap the end on a piece of wood so the weight of the gears is directly over top like if you were trying to chisel a hole in ice with a bar often times it'll jar it loose...I used a press and bearing removal clamp
