Default Typoon intake questions

When it come to intakes i pretty much made up my mind that i want the holley but the typoon looks super sexy and is alot cheaper. i was woundering how it compared with the others. i know that someone has posted a flow chart with different intakes but i cannot find it

i forgot to mention that heads are not an opion in the near future and this car will be street driven.

I got it and it works just fine. Just get a dremel and clean the ports up a tad. Thats it. I compared it with an edelbrock and didn't see that much of a difference to warrant the extra $250~

i took about 2 hours out of my life to port out the intake to the exact dimensions of the eddy RPMII intake. at work i have a dyno sheet of a 5 liter with a typhoon intake only, the rest is stock. he had a 14hp gain which i guess isnt that bad considering he used it out of the box and with stock heads. personally i dont see a reason to spend the extra 250 bucks if you have access to a die grinder and two hours of time.

yes, but the reason why i did mine wasnt purely for the HP gain even though thats what im getting out of it. the reason i ported it was because 1)crappy casting 2)to make it equal to the eddy intake since they are both the same design..

also for those of you who have the typhoon. did you check your thermostat port before you installed it? i had to hone that out as well. it wasnt even close to a circle. also i smoothed out the TB intakepassage so thats nice and round. then, (and i really suggest this) took a flapper wheel and sanded the entire runner and made it smooth as hell. this should deff help flow!
