I bought a notch today with a 306 and a f series cam. For some reason when it warms up and i shut it off and start it back up It has idle surge real bad. Then drive it for a second and it quits. If its cold it wont do it.

f series cam? so its out of a truck? lol just givn ya ****... f303 i guess u mean... ive heard of idle issues with them... honestly imo... if thats the only problem u have... and it goes away... i wouldnt worry about itlol

 

i would check the air idler, it can do weird things when its cloged up...let me knowwhat you find...spray some throttle body cleaner in it and see if it helps it out..

 

Does it have an aftermarket MAF (mass airflow sensor) and larger injectors? Does it have a chip tune to compensate for these mods? If not, there's your problem. Aftermarket MAF's are notorious for idle and hot start problems.

 

im gonna say if everythng is in working order(iac, etc) its the cam... that cam isnt small... i dont have the specs on it in front of me but the intake and exhaust duration are up there, and the overlap isnt small either...

like i said... if thats the only problem your having, call yourself lucky, and dont stress about it

 

It has everything my signature. Im gonna pull the iac off tommorow and check it out. It does have a pro m maf and 30# injectors. Really appreciate the help guys.

 

its the tps its on top of the thottle body needs to be set under 1 volt like .98 .99

 

hey 92 does it need to be set at under 1 volt at closed throttle or open? should be closed throttle right? and like 4.9 at open? or am I just typing in numbers

 

do you have stock mechanical fan?
