hes going to be buy a 347 kit and he want high compression but he wants to run on 93octane

should he get get the flat top pistons which would put him at like 10.5:1 or the dome's at like 12.5ish:1

10.5:1 is about as high as you will want to go with pump gas.

 

10.5-11 on pump

 

my friend has 13:1 in his duster dragster and HAS to run 112 or hell hurt or blow his motor,
so 12.5:1 is way too much for pump gas.

I ran 11 to 1 for the last two years with no problem ...I had .200 dome pistons with aluminum heads but I wouldn't go any higher than that

 

what cc head?

 

Those helped because they displace heat better than iron heads. I still woundn't go any higher than 10.5:1 with iron or aluminum heads.

 

depends on what he plans on doing...(supercharging/turbo)... mine is 10:1...
