just curious of the fastest everybody has been in their 5.0, ive burried my 140mph guage racing a sti and nsx. my friend in his sti said we were going around 160-170... but i was pretty close to maxing out.

 

so far only 125, but i only had the car a month before winter hit

 

What mods do you have?

 

i am curious also. how far did it take you to hit that kind of speed

 

ya even when i had a 2.73 gear the most i could ever hit was like 135..little more but it just ran out of steam..and that was a perfect straight road ..could have gone forever..but wouldnt have gone faster...just stopped at that speed...160-70 is kinda tough to believe..unless u had some big mods

 

its not only the gearing but after 100 aerodynamics start becoming a factor. Then you have to have the horsepower to push the car to go that fast.

I've never been that fast in my car. Like jasper said, aero becomes a huge factor at those speeds. I have had mine to 130 twice before, just going from one exit to another and i always let out of it. Mine picks up speed pretty fast, so i do it real fast and slow down real fast hoping to avoid police. Mine never felt like it was running out at 130, but i'm sure it would after 140. And to validate your statement some, we would like to know what you have. If not then i'm raising the flag also.

well my buddy with a 306 xcam, supercharger with 14lbs of boost etc etc got pulled over by the cops for them clocking him at 136 and he said the tach was buried and it was about to redline. he has 3.73's i think with probably a 26inch tire. good find twisted. unless he has done some serious mods he needs to speak up

 

325/375?? Those seem like a popular made up number. He mentions a few mods and such, people with a nice build are not usually that humble. Tell us what you have man. We are not jealous, alot of us have those kind of numbers, just kind of skeptical.
