Default Interior Paint Tip

After much experimenting and test spraying of
different paints and dies on the interoir pieces I have found
the perfect paint for plastic dash parts.

Krylons Plastic Paint in Satin Black I got it at the Home Depot

This is like a semi-gloss black.
The gloss black made eveything too shiney and looked "painted"
the flat black did not look like a factory dash color at all.

The Satin Black is PERFECT.
Gives parts nice smooth color with just the right amount of gloss
so it doesn't look painted.

It does take 3 light and even coats to make it look right too.

Just thought I would share ..............

So what are you using for the vinyl? i.e. door panels, dash piece, etc... Also do you/did you repaint the black part of the dash or leave it factory black. I was wondering how the 2 blacks would look?

I would like to see pics of your test pieces.

The door panels are black already and in good condition.
The entire dash, console and instr. cluster housing will be painted to match.
Going to take dash pad to upholster shop and have it remade .... maybe in black leather.

Test pieces were just parts of the center console hidden by the seats
It's been repainted now. I'll post some pics of the parts I've painted tomorrow.
