I'm not sure why someone would consider going thru all the trouble and money to make something efi when all it needs is a carb. Buy a carb.

O.K thanks for the advice, I already have the intake and plenum and did'nt think the rest would be that much from a wrecked 5.0. I think I will take your advice though.

Exactly what fastblack said. You can get a brand new carb for around $200 if you look (got mine on ebay for $217 shipped). Alot less money and trouble than switching to f.i.

EFI is not better. And neither is carb. They each have specific advantages and disadvantages, with some overlapping characteristics. By and large though, it's easier and cheaper to keep it as whatever it is. EFI is nice for people that don't know how to tune a carb. Indeed, the advantages of a carb are only actually realized if it's tuned properly to begin with, which these days is becoming a lost art. If it's carb stay carb, EFI stay EFI, unless you're doing something radical and going all out in such a way that one system greatly outweighs the other, there isn't much advantage to switching. I've met plenty of people though who've spend thousands converting to EFI because their carb ran poorly, when all they needed was a $15 set of jets and a few turns with a screwdriver. [&:]
