I Passed!!!
i finally passed inspection!! my mechanic said they really had to tinker with it to get it to pass, they retarted the timing a little bit, and had to mess with the EGR to get it to pass, but it did!!! wooooo
my belt has also started to chirp again, and my mechanic said when he put his hand on the tensioner, he could feel like a gravelling feeling from it...so i'm guessing that needs replacing?

Congrats. I had alot of problems getting thru our city inspection and was so happy the day I was driving away from the inspection station with a passing score. The guy was nice to me because my left blinker would not work when my head lights were on but he passed me anyway because I told him I would make sure to get it fixed. Now I have moved and don't have to get inspections anymore and I am glad of that. Good luck next year with yours.

i am good until july 09...i failed my nox reading the first time with like 1300, the limit was 1000, they got me down to like 456 or something...they had to tinker with it, but i'll take itwhat do you guys thing a bout the belt/pulley thing i talked about

Are you sure it's the belt and not one of the drive pullies? Her's a way to check if it's the belt for sure. Get some wd-40 or the like. With the car running and the belt chirping, spray one of the pullies between the belt and the pulley, if the chirping stops, it's the belt.
