Gas mileage?
Ok I am not complaing about my gas mileage I am just curious as to what I should be getting per tank.
So lets say I fill my tank up full and shift at 2k rpm (its a 5 speed) what type of gas mileage should I be getting? I normally drive part city, part highway. I have no mods on the car.
I am currently getting around 250 km (155 miles) per tank [8D]. So what are all you guys getting compared to me. I rarely get on it.
its a 1988 GT, 5 speed.
Thanks

To determine your actual MPG: Fill the tank up until the pump shuts-off automatically, reset the trip, drive until you need gas again, then refill until auotmatic shut-off. Divide miles driven by gallons pumped. That should be fairly accurate.
Try shifting sooner, or continue to shift at 2000, but skip 2nd and 4th gear. How fast are you going on the highway? How are the basics; tire pressure, fuel filter, air filter, igntion components, oil/fliuds?
I get 300-320 miles per tank(~25 MPG) driving city/highway/semi-open roads. Its a 5.0, 5spd, with 3.55's, C&L CAI/MAF, UDP's, Catted H-Pipe w/ Flowmaster 40's. It is religously maintained, and driven very easy 98% of the time.

I get 15-17 normally (almost all city, short trips) and 25 max on the highway (I usually go ~80mph). I usually fill up when between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank so thats usually about every 140 or so miles normally. On the highway I'll run it to 1/4 before I start looking for fuel but I've gotten 300 per tank on long road trips, which means I could probably get about 310-320 before running out.
i dont know about mileage, but half a tank is around 25 bucks, so im assuming around 50 to fill itall thewayup.driving to school and back for just one day the gauge goes to 3/5 tho it sucks...
i get 200 miles to a tank, and when i fill up i usually take like 12.5 gallons...5 speed with 3.73s, all around town driving, and i shift between 2500 and 4500...i drive like i stole it a lot
