LOL, I had that happen once. But it was b/c the car hooked so good I wasn't ready for it and pulled my hand right off the shifter.

I knew someone who missed 3rd and ended up in 1st instead. Needless to say the valvetrain was most displeased. [&:]You should try finding 3rd in a Toploader. The Hurst shifter makes it much better, but man, when you miss 3rd in a Toploader....you miss 3rd. There were a couple times where it seemed like it took me 30 seconds just to find it again. Hasn't happened at the track though. Yet.

Sucks missing gears. Seems like I will mostly miss second....go figure. Talk about embarassing, last year when I was leaving work I got on it pretty hard, hung the *** out and when to go shift into second and I missed it AND my gas pedel stuck under the floor mat....OUCH, that one sucked, everyone was leaving at the same time. The next day the owner came up to me and said " why was your car making such funny noisies?" I was like, o-man

im guilty of missing 3rd...done it once trying to show off, left and burned the crap outta the tires 1st into 2nd went to shift to 3rd and i dunno how but i did....terrible i didnt live that down for along time
