Sooo along with my egr, smog, and a'c delete i yanked out my TF cam and installed the Ford Racing Z303 cam....AWESOME.....Also yanked out the TF heads and installed GT40 iron heads. Now some guys will argue this, yes i know they are lighter and dont flow bad, but i ran acrossed the GT's and they have been to the shop and worked over, and i like the irons, they take alot more abuse. Since the SC is on its way, wanted her to hold up. Ive read up on the aluminums haven head gasket issues???

haha to funny i always thought that bigger was better for cams too but i have learned alot since i thought that and have decide to ask why u think that the gt40 are better than the trickflows cause i havent seen gt40 outperform tw's yet. i had a set of stge 3 ported gt40's big springs and the ports wer still no bigger than my new untouched twisted wedges

and aluminum overheating issues what ??

you are totally right. the aluminum expands and contracts at different rates than the iron block which can cause microscopic wear on your haed gaskets, head bolt etc........ add boost to the equation and there is *POTENTIAL* for disaster, less so with the iron heads. gt40s are still great heads, especially when ported and polished, and WILL withstand the boost for a longer period of time with less chance of cracking warping and blowing head gaskets. im sure the z cam will work great with boost, but i would p+p the heads and get all the other supporting mods to get the most out of that cam while your still n/a.

just my 2 cents

Yep, head studs, good headgasket, and a tune and the aluminum will not be an issue.

I often wonder how the newer OEM engines are going wrong with all the aluminum heads that have been going on most vehicles for the last 10-20 years

alot of cars that come with factory aluminum heads also have a factory aluminum blockplus look at the head bolt patterns.
