I dont have the time or knowledge to build one myself. but I wonder what you guys thinkI've herd of DSS, coat high performance kieth black, and many others I have approx 3-5k to spend on the motor and I would like it to have alum heads,and300 to 400 hpIhave to smog it though Ilive in california. I do not plan on turbo or supercharging it. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

5 k and it should get you your goal...coast high is a way better choice over DSS....and a even better choice is ford strokers ...a friend just got his 347 in from coast high today and there were a few things I wasn't impressed with from coast high quality..but none the less it looked decent

www.rnhperformance.com or www.keithcraft.com (40 years experience).

I had good success and the quality was great from both.

Ford Racing has some nice crate motors in that ballpark with GT40 heads. Summit lists them between 4k and 5k.

h/c/i and supporting mods to get close to that 300rwhp mark you want, and then a nice 100shot for the track to get that 400mark you want.

Best of both worlds on the cheap.

You can have a nice h/c/i parts wise for 800dollars if you spend your money right mate
