What bare head casting to get?
Well guys,
I want to buy a used bare head. Port them, shave them to 54-58cc (depending on the head). Then Get a good set of valves. Then When I place my build sheet in to Jay Allen, I will get him to hook me up with the perfect spring for my cam setup.
So otherwards, Whats the best alluminum head casting to start? It will be going on my 408, I want to have 320-340CFM at .700" lift. SO there will be some serious port work.
Thanks, Nik!

anyway why a bare head? why not an assembled one... and just get a valve job done...valves arent the cheapest thing to buy... their not bad, but yea...
who's doing the port work?
i dont know much about heads for a 408... im more of a 302 guy.... but what about the tfs heads, not the twisted wedges, the other bigger ones... do they still have the porting potential that the tw's have?

Yeah he can be! But I dont care. Is knowledge of SBF's in very good! He's kinda like adder! LOL!
But He has a few new heads available. He has RHS, TEA, And canfields! I wouldn't mind a set of TEA TF High Ports 225cc. And Yes it'll be a bilet steel cam core for sure!

Yeah, it'd be cheaper to get something like TEA's which will make awsome power. If you're dead set on porting, then go with Edelbrocks Pro Port professional porters head series. Get like a Victor bare casting with the microscopic ports, then take them to someone who REALLY knows heads, like a shop that does Pro Stock or NASCAR stuff, and you'll have a badass set of heads. But you'll pay through the nose for it, which then gets back to the original point.....get TEA's.
