How do you remove it?

Do i have to rise that side of the engine?

Nope, 2 bolts, 1 wire. Pull it out

Im not a certified mechanic,but ive done a few and its I believe 3 bolts to remove and a wire.Youll have to move the starter around for a while to get her down.If it has oxygen sensors you may want to remove it,just in case you break it,because there isnt a lot of room.

i cant get to the top bolt..

its an 89 5.0 lx.. The header is in the way on top and the control arm from the bottom

You need a swivel(sp) extention,and have to feel it.Ive never had an easy quick one.

I was told to just lift it a lil.. well thats what they did in my aunts 89 2.3.

yeah, if its anything like mine, your going to have about 3 inches to play with to loosen the bolt

we actually had to drop a wrench onto it and then we were at our fingertips trying to reach it to loosen it, i think it took us 30 or 45 minutes to get it off

and then i had to take it off yesterday to get my header out and without the h pipe there it took me mabye 5 minutes

if you can i would take off the h pipe just to make it simpler

then again, the different body style may come into play here, and i may not be making any sense

i didnt see that the first time i scrolled down

try the swivel extension first for simplicity
