Default Cobra Intake Differences

Maybe you all can help me out. Lately ive been going over what intake i would like to run. I already have a gt40 lower intake, and had my heart set on the the tubular gt40 untill i found numerous articles pitting the cobra and explorer intake against it. They all flow identical, the bottleneck of these intakes is in the lower. So ive read all about porting the lower and decided to stay gt40. My question is whats the difference between a 93 and factory 94-95 cobra intake. Besides the 45* neck. The main plenum looks larger to me, after the end freeze plugs. Iam curious that if this has a larger plenum and a longer neck it should provide better torque down low then a 93, right? If it helps, my combo would sit atop a 351w, seeing only street use. I seen the intake on a 95 cobra r and thats were this all started. Any help, ideas or comments would be great

The intake is not wide enough for a 351.

its for street use only, itll be fine and give good performance. the 94-95 looks alot different, but im not sure if it flows any better. since the elbow is built into the 94-95 version, it effectively makes the plenum volume larger which will help a little in the higher rpms. what year is your stang? youll need to take smog provisions into account if its newer.

why not buy a real intake for a 351. either way you look at it the gt40/cobra/whatver you wanna call it will be a bottle neck on 351

yes they do, the gt40 intake supports up to 350 hp no problem and has kick *** powerband for the street. yes he can make more pwer with a different intake, but he doent need one unless hes going for a motor making 350+++ hp. the gt40 mani is not a bottleneck, a standard gt mani would be.
