I am just afraid the white will stain really easy (kinda like it is now). if the car was blue or something i might agree with the body color thing. i drive this pretty often so its a pain to keep clean. by the way where did you hide all the crap behind the passenger side shock tower? can you email me some detailed pics of how you ran your vacuum lines and everything? Thanks for everyones opinion.

IMHO---If you going to the trouble of cleaning up the engine bay and give it a decent paint job (something that Ford obvisouly didn't do) then you shouldn't have to worry about stains. Case in point!

or

and the reason I suggested painting your engine bay White.

I'm not sure if you're talking to me or not since you didn't mention my name when you asked where the crap was behind the passenger side Strut Tower,. But if you were talking to me my 1st attempt at hiding wires I left things where they were and that was the reason for my 2nd attempt at hiding 2 yrs later.
wires.

well i got a little more done today. I took out the dash, steering column, and pulled the wiring from the driverside inside the car to relocate in the inner fender area. i know how i want do do that side, but still thinking about the passenger side though. my a/c is still working and charged up so i dont want to disconnect it. do you guys think ill have enough room to work behind HVAC stuff if i just unbolt it and let it hang a little? I want my fuel injection harness to exit the firewall right above the transmission. i started to mock up the hydroboost just to see how it looked. i am trying to find a set of pedals from a newer mustang to make the swap a little easier. anyone know what year they start using the hydroboost? did they in 96? i cant remember.
Curiosity; are you welding up the holes in the engine bay and hiding wires or just cleaning up the engine hiding wires and paint it?
Since you already know how you want to run your wires on the drivers side I won’t post a pics of how I have mine routed behind the dash.

I’ve heard that you can slip the harness and large grommet in the fire wall past the heater box, but I didn’t have much luck doing that so I pulled the heater box and I know it made things so much easier.
Since you’re still undecided how to run your passenger side wires this might help?

And if you notice all the crap that was behind the passenger side Strut Tower is now located just about the harness for the passenger side.

And I also have my 10 ten connector in the Trans tunnel.

hey almost stock, thanks for the pictures. since i have decided to this much so far, i will be welding up all the holes and sanding smooth. i am just hoping that i have enough room to work behind all the heater stuff without pulling it all the way out.

Not much of an update today.I have the wires run through the inner fender on the driver side now. i still need to lengthen and shorten a few to be finished. i decided that im gonna modify my exsisting pedals for use with the hydroboost instead of buying newer ones. it will save a little money for now too. my brother is supposed to come over to help tomorrow so i should have a lot more pictures then.

ok so I assume you still have r12 in your ac and that is the reason why you don't want to disconnect it. I have the perfect solution. I can get my hands on r12, but i have to buy 30 pounds of it. Not sure how much a stang takes, but we'll divide itand figure out how many people we can get in on it and buy 30 pounds of it. To a customer it costs $950, but i can still get it for $650[8D]

Who's ready to re charge our old ac? lol

Got some more work done to the car. This is where my harness exits above thetransmission now. I got all the holes welded up where the harness originally
came through the firewall. I also put the dash back together. My brother is coming to help tomorrow so i hope to have a good update tomorrow night.

This is where the harness came through.

I have since welded this up solid, and ground smooth. No pic yet though.

Lookin good so far. If you might not keep the car white I sure as hell wouldn't paint the engine bay white. The nice thing about black is it goes with everything.

1 vote for black.
