I got a 93 LX 5.0 and it boggs out at 4000rpms exactly. Replaced the fuel tank,pump,and filter.If you drive calm it will run thru it but when ur on it it dont want to go past 4000rpms

 

has it been chipped have a throttle enhancer on it or any mods at all? could be in the rev limiter . we kinda need to know what all it has or if it stock to try to track it down.

 

I was told it is all stock. I bought a throttle position sensor but didnt put it on yet. I just got the car about 6 months ago.

 

is the spout connector in or did it fall out???? also try cleaning the maf with the proper cleaner

The spout connector is a black jumper plug....

 

how is it? like no fuel? valve float?

get a little more descriptive about what exactly it does at 4k

right now thoughts are

tfi
valve float(doubtful)
coil
maf

 

if ur on it at 4k it does not want to pick up it breaks up. but if ur about half on the pedal it will run to 7k if u want it to and if ur past 4k and jump on it it like u hit the brakes. there are no mods that i know of except exhaust. Im not sure what else to sayIm glad u ppl r tring to help thanx

 

Got my stang for $2000 because of this. Look very closely at the MAF sensor because I thought I had it clean the first time around...but later took it out to find gunk all over it. Make sure you clean it in a well lit area so you can make sure the filaments are good and clean.
