how bad does the 1-d-1 shuffle hurt a stock aod transmission? Is it worth anything in the quater mile?

 

I've heard it's bad for it, but if you're only doing it while at the track than it might be ok. It does hold 2nd till' your ready for 3rd, and that would prolly shave a little off the E/T. Instead of it going 1stttttttttt2nd3rrrrrrrrrrd, you can go WAHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHHH WAHHHHHHHH lol. My AOD died on me after 30 kilometers of putting around, so I have little next to no experience with them, but the shufle does work.... I hope I wasn't a COMPLETE waste of a post!

I do it all the time, never had a problem with my AOD

 

A few of my buddys have 5.0's with AOD's and their transmissions are still good but over an extended period of time it will harm the trans.

 

Get a becontrols valve body kit and scratch the shuffle idea.

 

YES!!! i have the transgo HP kit. i do it all the time on the street from both a stopped start and a rollin start. either way it kicks butt!! works better with a shift kit and maybe even also with the hammer shifter. just make sure u get a tranny cooler from b&m and keep all fluids filled and maybe even an electric engine fan. i havent had any problems with this method, and on the contrary i have had many street victories with it.

When my car was an AOD I ran my best times shuffle shifting. I don't know if it hurts the trans or not.

 

just shift it like you want!!! a aod shuffle is similar to a power shift to a t-5....just shift it how you want ..make her go til she blows

 

ya i do it all the time to, i have an transgo kit on my aod to and it works awsome, especially with the 4.30's. Hopefully my m/t's will come in sson
