I need to know if I can use a 94 v6 master cylinder an 85gt... I know the fittings are different, but will it work?

 

Sure with enough modification anything will work. I don't think it is a direct bolt on or anything. Yours is still the metal resevior right? Then to at least go up to the 87 and up standards. You will need the brake line for the front left wheel and the block that the lines go into after the master cylinder. 87 ^'s have 3 lines comming out of the MC and the older ones only have 2.

 

Yeah, mine has 2 lines... but so does the Master cylinder....

 

it's not a direct bolt on!! without line mods...but just buy the correct one.. they are cheap

you should have power brakes...look for the big black booster behind what the master cylinder is bolted too

 

so the booster means power brakes? (i have a booster)

Exactly, 86 and before have 2 lines off of the MC and 3 off of the block under it. 87 and up have 3 lines off the MC and 2 off of the block. If you upgrade to the 87 and up you will want to upgrade your brake booster to the thicker double diaphram booster compared to our skinny single. You should be able to get a booster and MC for line $120 or so from advance. And like I said before that front left line either has to be bent (I don't know if it will reach or not) or swaped out with a newer one. The fittings should be the same.

Like Mjr said, you should be able to get the 94 MC to work but will prolly have to have the booster also and have to modify your lines. And if I remember correctly when bolting up the booster to the firewall you have to elongate one of the bolt holes but other than that it bolts right up. If you look at the 5 lug swap pages some of them talk about the MC/booster upgrade.
