Default Driveshaft help????

I have a 94 gt and the Universal joint is destroyed. The whole car shakes like crazy because of it and the extension housing seal got tore up because of the broken part. Any way i dont have access to a lift so i have the car on jack stands to take the driveshft out. The 4 twelve point bolts in the back are out and the shaft is dropped down in the rear but the part of the drive shaft thatis in the tranny is not coming out. Can someone please give me some pointers. Is this a sign of something else????

It should just slide out. Give it a good yank!!

Ive tried pulling it, tapping it with a mallet. twisting, yanking, i mean you name it i've done it. ive taken off plenty of drive shafts before and nothing compares to the turmoil that ive endured thusfar. i did spray some penetrant into the small space inbetween the shaft and the housing. hopefully in the morning i have some more luck.

actually one better and safer than Birtha may be a air hammer....I have a snap -on one the big daddy and have a hammer head insert that works wonders in situations like such....I'd position it right on the front side of the yoke and let the ole snap daddy drive away to sucess
