Default header opinions

well me and my buddies went to the track today but i didn't want to run mine since it needs a few things first. one of the maine things it needs is headers since i have a leak in the stock ones. what would you recommend for headers? i know bbk longtubes but i really don't want to spend a whole lot for now since i am still not sure where i want to go with the car and whatever i do is only temporary (maybe a year max). just curious as to what was good for a decent price? also is there any downside to chrome besides they turn colors? i mean it's not a show car so as long as they're functional i'm not worried if they turn colors.

summit racing brand headers are cheap and function well for unequal shorties

i heard that the summit headers rust out quickly, is that true? also which ones? i would rather not have to change out my mid-pipe if i can help it. how hard is installation typically?

not too bad the will bolt right up to your exaust you have already , it depends on how tough the flange bolts are on your old set up . you can get those in ceramicoat too ,but most all headers rust eventually .

I have BBK equal length ceramic coated shorties. 300.00 Great headers. 2 y/o and still look as nice as they did when new.

is there anything wrong with chrome headers? they seem much cheaper than ceramic.

Yup, cheaper. They get hotter and turn colors then rust. The ceramic coating helps keep exhaust temps down.
