I am going to place the order this week from eBay.....the question is, 6k or 8k??

I like the blue look, but I don't want it TOO Blue...

From what I read, the 6k is a better light, but it is only white....If I am going to install the HIDs, I want it to have a slight blue...

What is the Forum Consensus??

 

I have 8k, I like the light blue tint. Just look at my car domain for pics.

 

Your car looks awesome, your post last week is really pushed meto finally want to buy these things......I have been looking at them for a few months, but I was always hesitant with the eBay quality.

From whatI read, it seems they are not the best, but they are the real thing...my question now is, which color? Is the 8k too blue, is the 6k not blue at all??

What do you guys think?

 

I think you should go with the 8000K, 6000K is more a hyper white so if you want some blue I think you'll be happy with 8000K. I want it really blue so i'm considering the 10000K, not really sure either.

 

8k is what I was thinking too.........I think the 10k are illegal though. There is no clear guidance out there to be easily found, but one place said anything over 8k is illegal.

Then again, your state is what is really going to make the difference......have you done any research on a good brandname?

 

Meh, everything is illegal in NY so w/e lol. Stangmods and American Muscle have a good brand i think, but it costs more than eBay ones.

 

i have been thinking hard about these too.that is a nice orange gt. i think when i do them ill do the 8000's whats the going cost for one of these kits?

 

4300k is the color/shade of the sun and as you go higher in K (kelvin) its not as bright (the same if you go lower). 6000k is a nice balance (in my opinion) between a nice crisp color and light output. 8000k will def be more of a blue color but will still be brighter than our crappy stockers (unless its a really crappy product). so the choice is kinda yours if you want it to have a better look or have it brighter. personally i think 6000k looks great and thats what most auto manufacturers are using also. another thing to keep in mind bout the color situation is that after time they naturally change to a higher K (color) bout halfway through its lifetime. so if you went with the 6k it'll turn a bit more blue over time and the 8k will turn almost to a purpleish color [&:]. so keep that in mind. and as far as having that feedback through the radio, just put a small cheapo capacitor on the car. not one they use for the big systems, just a tiny 2" one it may do the trick for ya

 

i have a 10k kit on my mustang they are blue but are also very bright here are pictures from when i first got them installed, but they have got a bit brighter since i put them in, and not sure about ebay quality but check out buytoonline.com that is where i ordered mine 109 shipped, and i have been pulled over when i had them on but the cop never said anything to me about my lights being too bright or anything.
