Default dash gauge needles

some people told me you have to take off the needles to put on white face gauges...but then someone told me the white face plates are meant to slip on. how do they slip on and off?

kinda need to know quick.... i'm about to go and do it.

I pulled mine off, there was no way that I was going to get the set I bought on there without removing them.......I have the UPR Silver Reverse Glow BTW

But I tell you, after I put it all back together, they were all off...and I had to go in there again [:@]

If you do have to pull them, do the job, reinstall the bezel, but leave off the clear plastic....and start it up. Then put all your needles back the way they were.....

With that being said, make sure you take note to where they are at idle, how much gas is in there, etc...

Most kits come with a tool to remove them.

Just curious; butif you pulled the speedo needledid you happen to notice asmall spring on the back side which keeps slight tension on the speedo needle so thatneedle is notpegged aginst the small stop? I ask since you said you had the needle on zerobut yet didn't mentionhaving to set the tension on the spring.

thats what i was thinkin but wasn't positive. so when he gets it all up and running, there's a good chance that the car will start moving a few mph before the gauge actually starts to move correct?

i set in the needle the first time and the when i let go it moved to about 30mph so i guess ya a spring....so then i popped it off again and pushed it in when it was a tiny bit less then the stop so when i let go it stayed on zero. if thats what you mean?

GET THE NEEDLE REMOVAL TOOL...... a couple pennies to ensure smooth "needle pullage"..... and draw on paper what all the gauges looked like.... When you use your hand, you have to wiggle it to get it off.....

If the needle just barely rests/touches the stop; then you have it set right from my experience doing my white face gauge.
