engine swap
I was thinking of doing an engine swap from my factory 302 to a 5.0l/302 gt-40 crate engine, and I want to find one used, and I have got replies that all I had to do is get an explorer engine and I was wondering would this motor be the same motor if I was buying one from a shop for my mustang brand new to getting one from a junkyard out of a explorer are is there a difference between the two besides they are used. Also is this a good idea to get some seriouse horses out of my car, because brand new they come with 345 horses and thats all i was really trying to get.
ford explorer motor is not equivalant to a gt-40 crate motor.......explorer motor< gt-40 crate motor...gt-40 comes with a cam and aluminum heads.. explore motor doesn't and it comes with cast iron p heads
. now some may say that the performance increase over the two is minimal and therefore does not justify the cost difference but compare apples to apples..one will be used and the other new
with warranty
