I was thinking on changing my taillights of my 92 mustang gtand removing thosecheesegratersto lx tailights. My question is do i need to buy the hole tailight assembly or just the tailight lenses please let me know.

Second that. How much you want for them. What Color are they?

Change the whole assembly. It is a lot easier. Plus when just changing the lens you run a huge risk of breaking the lens.

Its easier to just change the whole thing. If you buy thrm used they will come with the housing. You could buy new lenses and use your housing if you really want

 

I was planning on getting rid of my gt tail lights and getting cobras lenses, then I kinda thought of LX lenses. Im keeping the GT's on, Cobrasarefor Cobras and LX's are for LX's IMO+ a whole lota people wantingthere cheesgraters back on made me want to keep them. Its notworth going away from a 100% exteriorstock look for changing tailights. Get this, a guy on craig list is selling a completepair ofGT Tailights for $25.00!!!!!

 

No reason to replace the whole housing, just remove and replace the tail light lens.
I've gone from the original Cheese Graters to LX, then to Cobra and back to LX and I've not once replace the original Cheese Grater housing and eacl lens fit fine.

 

BTW....I've seen the Cheese Grater go for $400 a pair, just wished I would have kept mine.
