Default Transmission Help!

i'm building a 600whp engine for my 95 GT, i know T-5's are practically junk with anything over 400 wheel. I'm looking for suggestions from people w/ pros and cons of transmissions opitions, i'm looking to keep it manual.

Tremec is the only thing you need to know. Then it's all about what you want to spend.

Ideal: abeefed upT56
Nominal: a TKO 600
Still better than any other factory manual: 3550 or TKO 500.

I have a 3550 and love it. It's a rock crusher. I know several guys pushing 600 or more through it and absolutely no problems. We're not nice to it either......

D&D performance has about as many options as you could ask for in terms of tranny swaps. i too own a 95 GT, and just got a T56 kit from them (tranny, bellhousing, crossmember, driveshaft), as well as a beefed up T5 when my first one let go (T5 FTL...). give them a call and tell them what you want, and they'll help you out. The T56 offers much more tq capacity than the TKO when you opt for the Viper IPS, and having 6 gears, is mighty addictive. not only that, but smoother shifts too (the TKO i think feels a bit notchy). it basically boils down to what you what to spend and if you really care THAT much about gas mileage.
