around winter time, i put in the 331 stroker that is in my car now.. whenever i start it up, it smokes grey smoke for a few seconds, and then quits.. it does it everytime.. its a probe stroker kit.. crank, rods, pistons, rings, the whole 9 yards..

someone told me chromoly rings take a while to seat.. i probably have 200 miles on it now MAYBE
and ive changed the oil 3 times

once after 20 minutes of starting

and once after 100 miles

the guy i had build the motor, reccommended Rotella 15w40

nope. thats a good point.

 

although, they are brand new heads... everything was brand new.. but that doesnt nescissarily mean anything.. New doesnt always = work

 

try driving it some more.. I just put a 347 in mine and it has less than 100 miles and no smoke..just depends on the ring they may of used??
