Default 5.0 motors

Ok, so i have 2 thousand dollars to do basically whatever i want with, some of it is going to pay for my new bumper to be installed and painted..

My question is, i want to get a 5.0 motor with a roller setup... and really want fuel injection as well..... would a 5.0 motor from a 90's ford explorer bolt right up? I don't think there is really any difference, but i have no idea...

I'm going to go to some local salvage yards to look for a motor.. if i find a 5.0 explorer motor should i buy it?

Or what would be the best thing to look for, i don't want to spend a fortune yet, because all im going to do is rebuild it anyway...

what kind of price should i pay for a motor out of an explorer or a 5.0?

Any help would be appreciated...

Sorry if my post doesn't make any sense... im going crazy right now thinking about it.

hell yeah thats what I would do, find one thats crashed(that way you know the engine was working) if its an intact body then it probably has an engine/tranny problem

the wiring would be the hard part, you'd have to find the harness from an 87-93 fox

I remember a guy on here bought a whole explorer engine for like $250 and it had the GT40 heads and intake on it.

keep it carbed !!!! you'll be able to tune it yourself and won't ever have idle surge and it'll be faster

thats what i was actually starting to think.... i also looked on summit and found this kit... im like stuck as to what to do!!

i love the idea of roller set up... but do you think this would be just as good (im a highschool student) i think more power would just get me in trouble.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

is that a decent price, or could i build it cheaper?? i need ideas.

WHat would everybody suggest

A.. Keep my motor i have and build it... by either this kit.. or your suggestions.

Or

B. Buy a fuel injected explorer motor and build it slowly overtime. And your suggestions as what to do.

I'm open to any and all suggestions... Help me make up my mind please!! its driving me nuts
