alright i was coming home from school today running down the interstate when all of a sudden my car started like cutting out and my tachs went crazy...i started to pull over but then it quit so i kept going. a few more miles down the road my volt gauge dropped to just over the red and soon after that it lost power when i would give it gas and eventually just died..i got a jump and it ran for a little while but then did the same thing in like 5 mins.

sorry about the length but if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it, thanks

alternator sounds like its going out on ya. the battery alone cant run the car

alright thats what i figured but i didnt know with the gauges goin whack if thats what it would be or not....thanks

i was also wondering the bottom plug on the alternator has a wire thats about to fall out [:@]is there anything i can do to fix it, can i just find another plug and wire it in?

ok so i replaced the alternator and plug and still the car will only run when jumper cables are hooked up. if you disconnect them the car will run for awhile but dies i assume when the battery goes dead any ideas?

Check your battery cables...they might be crap.
