Default cleaning ponies

Hey guys,
I found a really good deal on a set of ponies locally. They look to be in fairly good shape and come with nice tires. I can tell they need a good cleaning wich is fine by me. But they guy described them as "faded" and in the first pic, you can see that some of the center caps look weird. Is this cause the centercaps are plastic? If so i'll prolly just get new centercaps. Also, how can I clean these up real well? Do they have the same clearcoat finish as 10 holes?
Heres some pics. Judging from the pics, do they look like they can be cleaned up pretty good?

It is notorious for ponies that after a while, the paint begins to fade on the wheel. That looks to be the case here, they look like they are in good shape. I would buy them and scuff them up with some scotch brite pads and maybe some 800 grit sand paper, and repaint them with standard wheel paint, but be sure to clear them afterwards. They could look as good as new for less than $50.

I think thats what he means, i used that duplicolor paint on my old eclipse rims and they worked fine, but put atleast 3 coats of clear on or they'll chip easily.

+1 exactly ... That's what I did on my old fox, looked like new in an afternoon. make sure you lay the clear on thick, but don't let it run.

Cool cool. Was the paint durable? Would it hold up good to daily driving?

Yeah, depending on the paint you get. I used Dupont wheel paint that I got from Pep-boys, worked great as long as you clear over the paint, should last a long time.
