basic advice guys please
[sm=helpout.gif]I`m new to the whole Mustang thing and will be purchasing in the coming weeks. I`m just not sure what to buy.[sm=smiley24.gif] I`m in Scotland and Mustangs are rare and to be so theres nowhere I can really get 1st hand honest knowledge.
I`ve decided on a 94-99 model (for tax and financial reasons AND I like them) . Despite fuel being $11 a gallon it`ll be a V8. My dilemma is 5.0GT or 4.6?
The 5.0 ltrs usually are `slightly` cheaperadmittedly with slightly less miles. They`re are plenty in England I can travel to and buy. What one? I won`t be upgrading the engine, it`ll be left pretty standard asides maybe a filter or exhaust.
Whats the pros or the cons?
Any advice appreciated

and you said 94-99 i would just skip the 96-98 and go for a 99 4.6 = as they have the pi heads and will be a better start if u want a mod motor.
the 94 and 95 are the sn body style and have the 5.0 (302) to but i like the pre 93 bodystyles better than the newer styles.
but as i agree with mjr as i have a 5.0 to and they are cheaper to mod and respond better to them, are easier to work on, and so on
and if your wanting to take it to the track i would get a 5.0

thanks guys, I wont be going to the track OR modifying it. It`ll be left standard. I`m swinging more towards the 5.0ltr here as I like the basic engine deal. Performance wise they`ll be about the same anyway? Not that its important but its always nice to have that bit extra [sm=crossbonesgif.gif]
well there close the 87-92 5.0 were rated at 225 hp the 93-95 was tuned down to 215 hp and the 96-98 4.6 was about the same 215 hp i think while the 99= gt's had 260 hp those are rated at the flywheel
Cheers man, I`m a sucker for mint condition and low miles. It seems these things are a bargain so 5.0 ltr it might be. Plus our government has an additional £455 ($900) annual tax on large engined vehicles under a certain age and the 94 or 95 5.0 is exempt.
Here`s an example. Theres loads like this but they all advertise like theirs is `unique`.
