Default Any exaust recommendations..?

I have an '87 GT... everything stock ..other than the K&N air filter... any suggestions for a nice, deep growl from... the exaust.? Flowmaster ..Catback ...Vortex... Hooker..?? I'm only looking to replace the "mufflers".

Totally depends on the sound you're going for and what you like. Listen to exhaust clips and make a decision based on your preference.

catback is a product not a brand, it refers to everything behind the midpipe, including mufflers

not as deep as some of the others, but IMO SLP sounds the best, it has a very aggressive tone and tells everyone around you (i mean like 5 mile radius, lol) that you mean business

Get a whole setup instead of just the mufflers. Get some FRPP headers or BBK's, go pick up an H pipe for that deep tone (MAC and BBK are good midpipes). Mac makes a good setup that includes tail pipes, flowmasters are a classic setup on fox's that sound great but do drone a little. Some people like the SLP's but I think they sound like *** on 5.0's. For the catback setup I would go with MAC, Flowmasters, Edelbrock SDT's ( just the mufflers), or Bassani if you have the money.

You said you are stock cept the filter, did you remove the air silencer yet??? That should be your first thing, along with bumping up the timming to about 12-14 degrees.
