Major electrical question
Ok first i gutted my 87 with a 351wto make it basically a race car. there are NO electronics of any kind. When i went to Carb i made a switch panel to individually power all the essentials, fan, lights fuel, ignition and starter. I have a 6AL and 2 step. thats it.
I went to start the car and nothing.
The MSD is wired black and orange to the coil and big red to constant power little red to switch big black to ground.
It is the stock dist. and the white from the msd is on the green wire from the dizzy. the black on the dizzy is grounded and the firsst red...from the bottom. is to switch power. this is how msd said to wire it.
I had a buddy place his finger on the #1 plug hole and when the compression blew his finger off we stopped at TDC.
Re stabbed the dizzy and set firing order at 13726548.
The thing is getting gas
the thing is not starting
Anyone have any ideas or can see something im doing wrong?

RE: Major electrical question
I am using a Fuel injected dizzy. it is the same that was on it when i got it. we jumpered the hot wire from the msd and put the coil on the water pump stud and got a nice little jolt. It is frustrating. there isnt anything that major that could be wrong.

RE: Major electrical question
I normally don't like trying to use an efi dizzy with a carb set up I know people have done it but I don't like it as timing curve is not adjustable as easy as a msd set up.......msd has troubleshooting instructions for their stuff on their website if you feel it is a msd related failure on a component
