Default Any way to keep a broken cat from rattling?

My aftermarket catted H-pipe has a bad cat, andit rattles sometimes. Its just my luck not to have any of the warrenty info, etc.

Just wondering if anybody knew how to quite the rattle down, aside from replacing it. This sounds pretty ghetto, but what if I ran a screw up into it, would that hold everything in place?

Im trying to keepthem some what functional, or else I would just have them cut out and some press-bent pipe welded in.

that cat is no longer functional, all it is doing is blocking the exhaust from passing through...take the pipe down and gut the broken cat

I had the guy at the muffler shop run it up on the lift w/ me it in. I tapped the gas to make it rattle and he said the cat is bad...
