For redoing my rear end? Axle's aren't in the budget right now, altho sometime before the end of the summer I will get them. I've got gears and a clutch pack. Was going to go with 3.90's but when I saw the price difference between them and 4.10's I decided to just go with the 4.10's. Now since I'm going to replace the axles later should i get the new axle bearing and seals now or just wait? Here's the parts, let me know if I'm forgetting anything.

A good set of shims. I bought a set from national drivetrain and they didn't even include the one shim that I needed and I couldnt make it from the ones that they sent me. I called them and they sent me out a new set from a master rebuild kit that they don't even offer individually...

All that looks good, but IMO I would wait and do the axles at the same time. One less mess you have to deal with. I think I would considerstepping up to31 splines also.

 

i don't think i need 31 splines, i only occasionally go to the track its 98% street driven, so 28's with hardened axles will work just fine i believe.
I've found a few deals on the corral where i can get 3.90's for the same price as the 4.10's, so what do you all think i should get? I'm not TOO concerned about mileage but like i said it is a 98% street car.

and if i were to purchase this would i just need new 31 spline axles and be all set?

I have 28 spline yukon hd's in mine and it's mostly street driven...at most two track trips a year

 

anybody know about the tlok and gears from the explorer?
what all else would i need other than axles to make them work.

 

so i bought the tlok off ebay. looking at yukon 31 splines axles now, and i do still need an install kit right?
also does anyone know what the stock length wheel studs are? i can't find it anywhere, i know they're about 2" long and 1/2 20 thread just not sure on the knurl dia.
