Default Help

It is my belief that putting a cam in a stock 5.0 stock e7's stock everything that it is just a waste. The money could be spent better or saved but my friends disagrees. So let see some responses so I can show him.

Yea, it won't do much good. Just save for heads/cam.

as said time and time again a cam chage alone is a waste of time and money as it will only net u 5-15 hp and the stock cam with some 1.7 rr's and a good set of heads and intake will do better than most think.

Now his argument is that he wants to keep the stock heads and cam and switch to 1.7 RR's since that was suggested and get that comp polymer upper that mounts to the stock base manifold. I told him still should get heads even something like the gt 40 p's from tri state cylinder heads. So he wanted your guys opinion on the stock heads and cam with 1.7 RR's and the comp upper. Is the comp upper even worth it.

I went from a b-cam to an f-cam and put stock ported heads on that I had laying around and it is neither faster or slower...same et's...stock heads and a cam swap is an utter waste..besides you'd have to change springs and retainers and locks on the stock heads for cam swap= to much work for so little gain.. I did it but only cause I had all the stuff sitting around from previous builds
