ive been taking bits and pieces of the dash apart and today i finaly got the bottom of the center console out and the trim around the heater controls.

i shut the door to my car and the lights wont turn off. i tried playing with the spring in the jam and it dosnt do anything.

finaly i whacked the light itself and it went out then came back on [sm=dontgetit.gif]

 

do fox's have a warning light on the dash for when the doors are open? if so is it on when the door is closed.
if yes to both of those then i'd guess your switch or the wiring for the switch is bad.

i did play with the dimmer switch, dont know if there is any relation to the dome light.

i plan on taking the instrument panel out once i get a torx bit that fits under the windshield

 

Dome lights? What light are you referring too?

 

yes the dome light

 

make sure the dimmer switch/ wheel isn't positioned to the spot where it turns dome light on

well mjr is right but the switch did not click right to activate the dome light so its probably just stuck on or something.

i disconnected the battery and the cluster will come out once i get that torx bit tomorrow at work so i can fudge with it

 

unplug the switch and see if they go out with doors shut of course

 

Yes do that before tearing into the cluster for sure!
