Default Rebuild engine help

This coming winter i want to start building up the motor. Ive already done the suspension and brakes.

What do you guys recommended for a weekend warrior? Budget 3000. In 4 years in gonna turbo it but for the next few years i need something more.

-Id prefer afrs (185 to much? i think require notched pistons) or Rhs (180)heads.
-Cam?
-I can pass with a cobra intake for now correct? it can handle up to about 350

Ive tried the search but it wont give results even for things ive search for months ago.

scuff and dip the bottom end and h/c/i and I'd go with a different intake such as an rpm II or systemax or good trickflow one

For about $4000 you can build yourself one of these.

I have afr 185's on a 306n/a. I feel like they are a little big for my engine. The performanceunbeatable from4000 to 7000rpm on my engine. But i have trouble with launches at the strip. I'm not 100%, but i don't think piston notching is necessary with afr 165 or 185 heads. Iwould contact afr to be sure.

185's will work fine on a 302 with appropriate bolt ons and cam and compression....had them on my 11 to 1 306 and it ran good

i'd recommend rebuilding ur lower, nice forged rods/pistons, and if your serious about a turbo throw in some low compression pistons. then get some nice heads, afr 185's will work and if you get aftermarket pistons you can get them prenotched. again if you were serious about the turbo i'd keep the stock cam for now and get a custom one made up when you go about putting in the turbo. and yeah a nice gt40 cheap would work for now but i'd say upgrade to whichever intake when you do the turbo.
