Default Engine question

Hey Fellas, I'm in need of some expertice. I have '93LX 5.0 and it started acting sluggish and I replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and no luck. I finally decide to take it to get looked at and they said cyl #5 only had 75 lbs and went up to 125 when they squirted oil in it. They quoted me $2,000 to rebuild it! lol. I noticed that the injector for that cyl was not as loud as the rest, would that be caused by the low pressure or would that be causing the low pressure? There is a guy selling an engine and auto tranny out of a '94 GT for $400 will this work on my '93 LX? Any help is appreciated, Thanks Fellas.

injector will have nothing to do with low compression..if the 94 motor is good then buy it ....however you can only use long block meaning block and heads and shortblock internals..you will need to swap off your timing cover and intake on to 94 long block

when you use your timing cover and brackets your underdrive pullies will work, you can use your plenum on that lower intake i do believe the plenums on a 94-95 have a built on elbow that your 93 does not! the only differenace i believe, oh and you might have to change the lower anyway the intake air temp senor is in the runner on your car and the sn`s are in the intake tube behind the mass air meter!

like I said...you use the long block......and your timing cover will need to be put on in place of the 94's and you uses all your accessories and brackets and then you can use your pullies
