Default multimeter

anybody know of any good sites that can give me a rundown on how to work one?

im really not good with electronics and was hoping someone had a site that explained everything in simple terms.

go to sears and buy a craftsman one ..it'll have all you need on it = volts, amps and milliamps and ohms and it 'll have an ac and dc scale ...sufficient for the homeowner

ok well no matter teh brand, there will be an ohm setting represented by teh omega symbol, mA is teh milliamp setting, V for volts a dc volt setting will have a straight line over it a AC setting will hvae a sine wave over it, and some meters have a continuity test setting! mine has a thermocouple for temp reading and it also will read frequencey!

If and when you get one i can walk you thru it! it is better to buy a good quality meter you do get what you pay for! A craftsman is fine for most all jobs, Bluepoint or Amprobe are great meters but cost a little more, the most expensive is still Fluke i believe depending on model and quality!

I saw a couple multimeters that measures Hz, which will allow me to test the harness connecter going to my MAP Sensor.
