Default new guy general questions

Hope I am posting this in the right place; if I am not please excuse me and direct me.

I am looking at a 95 Mustang Convert with the 5.0 engine/5 speed. I have never owned a mustang.... or a ford for that matter. The car has 108,xxx miles on it, it has 17" rims and has been lowered. I am going to look at the car tomorrow and I need some information on what to look for on the stangs as far as possible toruble spots; also how many miles can be put on these motors without worrying about a rebuild? I am mechanically inclined - so please be as straight forward with me about the car as possible...

thanks in advance
michael

here are some pictures of the car:

the 302 can handle an easy 300-400k before major problems.... but it all depends on how its treated and maintained

looks clean. throw it up on a lift and take a look at the torque boxes. that is where the rear control arms bolt up to the body. its a good spot to judge how hard the car has been driven.

Thanks for the fast replys fellas. What am I looking for at the torque boxes that shows how heavy it was ran? Will I see worn out bushings? or something else?

thanks again

the boxes themselves usually get all beat up. bent, cracked, etc...
if the car was driven nicely, you shouldn't see any damage

I really doubt that car has been hammered on......looks good.. drive it and peer underneath and look for any obvious things wrong

well i went and looked at it - looks even better in pictures, cranks and runs fine - everything seems to work fine except the clock on the dash. I looked at the torque boxes and they looked perfect, no stress marks could be seen.

I had a few questions after looking at it, he gave me some info and I wanted to make sure it is all correct, he has been very upfront with me aboute everything, I just want another opinion

1. airbag light.... when the sensor gets wet it throws the light on - when it dries it goes off, is this common?

2. a/c - the a/c compressor works fine, pumps cool air, but he told me they are notorious for going bad due to the seal design inside, how often does this happen?

thanks again
