I just went to the track this weekened. I expected a much better time than what i turned. I ran a 14.91 @ 91mph as my best. 1990 Gt convertable auto. For my combo I expected about a half second better. Here are my mods:

Mac shorty headers
off road h pipe
flowmaster cat back
under drive pulleys
k&n panel filter
15* of timing
tci streetfighter trans
3000 stall converter
3.73 rear gears
subframe connectors

that was my best time. just hammering from a idle. Little wheelspin 2.1 60'
Is this realistic?

you need a trans brake and slicks, or drag radials. .....and yes thats not good. you should be in low 14. w/ stickys you should pick up a half a sec. +/-. have you ever had it dynod? tuner?

yes.

i ran a 14.2 @91 with a 2.0 60ft
(would have been faster, but damn AOD shifted out of 3rd at like 3800rpm, and into 4th at about half track)

im sure i can click off a high 13 if it dident shift early.

why did you "hammer it from idle" ????

if you have a 3000stall, you should be using it?

is it because you spin?

if thats the case, get some better tires for sure.

can you tell me more about your transmission please? im plaining on buying a built automatic in the summer, was planing on a 550hp rated AOD

The trans is a tci streetfighter, Suposidly it is good to abotu 450hp non supercharged. IT shifts when I want it to.

When I left the line at about 2500 footbraking it the tires would spin and my times were a few hundreths higher but my mph was the same.

No dyno tune.

Your 16.22/14.28 times, is the only difference the 50 shot?

yea, i hate my AOD, i adjust, and adjust, but as soon as it gets good, a mth or so later, it starts acting crazy again.

how much was the tranny?
the 550hp rated AOD i want is 1900 plus the 250 freit

yes, i ran a 16.19 before ported heads, i got my head's ported and ran a 16.33 with a 2.50 60ft (micky thompson tires, but STOCK stall)

with nothing different but a 50shot, i cut my 60ft to a 2.0, and ran a 14.28@87, when i uped it to a 75 shot, the tranny shifted early out of third and i ran a 14.2x@91

it is hard to belive, but i think its mainly due to the high altitude, 5900ft elevation

...with your combo (being an AOD) you should be running in the low 14's...

I ran a 14.2 @ 99.6 with my 88 GT AOD, 3.55's, Dynomax mufflers, 2-1/4" Motorsport H-pipe, 14 deg. timing and shorty belt, Stock H/C/I...maybe you need to look at your tune...91 mph is low! ...tires/traction will help your ET, but HP is measured with your MPH...what are you shifting the car at?

2.1 60' is pretty good time for a stock DOT tire and an AOD car...might get in the 1.9's with a DR's at best...T-5 is a total different animal!

....sounds like that AOD needs a power adder
