Default Engine Cleaners

My engine is really dirty and is causing it to run really rough. Anyway is there any cleaning products anyone could recommend for me to try out to help the problem. Basically when I say dirty Ive got build up everywhere. The inside of that air intake is BLACK and its causing my 5.0 to run really idle super rough and die. So if anyone has got some good product ideas thatd be great, Thanks.

^^^^^^^^^I doubt that is the root cause, you most likely have a vaccum leak or a misfire, has it had a tune up lately??? could have secondary ignition probs, like cap, rotor , and wires, or plugs, if there are no internal engine issues like a burnt valve or so then start with externalities first

Ya I just had a tune up done two weeks ago and 3 weeks ago I had a mechanic check it out and they said they couldnt find anything wrong except a bad oil pan gasket that leaks oil a bit and that the engines really dirty.

They make engine degreaser for the actual outside of the engine, just make sure to cover the intake, alternator and battery when you do it.

As for the inside of your intake tube... remove it and try engine degreaser when its not on the engine, then get yourself a K&N filter

Gunk foamy works pretty well. Make sure you cover the distributor. As mentioned above, I doubt it's your drivability issue. As far as your mocanic, maybe it's time for a new one.

Ya I just bought the mustang a month ago and I had it looked at to see if there was anything possibly wrong with it. Ill take it to a different place for that specific problem. Maybe they will come up with something.

Try cleaning your maf sensor too. If the intake is gunked up then the sensor might be too, and causing a rough idle and other problems.

+1 on the new mechanic.
Clean out your intake and some of your Throttle body components, egr/iac etc.
Then get back to us.
