Valve Chatter
I recently got rid of my 96 GT and bought a 87 lx convertible originally a 4 cylinder car now a 5.0 with an AOD my problem is this when the car is cold it runs fine when the temperature starts to climb the valves begin to chatter as if i had bad gas or low octane if you let the car cool it's fine until it gets to operating temp. the car is in time has a new carb type distributor and control module and ballast resistor. its a two barrel. this car has no pcv valve anywhere??? not on the valve cover back of intake or on the carb..I was told by my mechanic that the car was building to much internal pressure because of the lack of the pcv valve and a set of new valve covers and a pcv valve would fix this problem and stop my excessive blow by issue CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP??????
WOW. No PCV? Well, I would thing that oil would be pushing it's way out somewhere if there were no PCV. I don't know if that would fix the valve clatter problem, but it could very well fix your blow by problem.
