What Gear
3.73 since your not looking to go crazy. 3.55 will be an improvement over what you have but 3.73 isnt any worse of a gas killer as 3.55. 4.10's if you want to make it a track car and want to keep the aod in it.
a guy on another forum, he gets 29mpg, no thats not a mistype.
he had 3.73's, he swapped in 3.27's. his mpg did not change.
he uses the same route on a highway and uses same fill up procedure, its not a complete 100% scientific "study" but good enough to use for comparison.

heck when my 85 had a aod in it and I put 3.73's in it with a 2000 stall I was seriously disappointed...it felt like a overloaded stationwagon taking off so I would do 3.73's but wouldn't be scared of 4.10's either in an AOD car
I got 3.73's in my 94 gt and around town I dramatically gained gas mileage and on highway I don't notice a big difference. The rpm's aren't bad for the highway either! I would suggest (obviously because of bias) the 3.73 rout... I don't think you could go wrong either way though.
I think those of you suggesting 4.10's for this guy is too much. From what he is saying he doesn't want a track car, just wants some more pep and driveability and gas mileage are a concern, either 3:55 or 3:73 and you will get what you want with little or no negative aspects. Just my 2 cents
I've seen somewhere on the forums losing 2nd gear i think it was from 4.10's.
I could be wrong but it seems a bit steep for my little sunday cruiser.
